Apparently “The Peacock” isn’t as impressed by the Bruins’ offseason maneuverings as many hockey experts.
The NHL today released its national television schedules. While Boston will appear on VS 11 times, the Bruins are scheduled for just two NBC games — both of which would have to be flexed by the network.
There’s no telling why the Bruins have been basically snubbed by NBC, but it’s just as well. Even if NBC exercises its option on the Bruins’ contests Sunday, Feb. 13 at Detroit and Sunday, April 10 at New Jersey, we’re guaranteed a minimum 69 games on NESN featuring Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley, the only broadcast team you really want to hear call a Bruins game.
Here’s a look at the Bruins’ VS schedule:
Oct. 9 vs. Phoenix (at Prague)
Oct. 19 at Washington
Nov. 17 at NY Rangers
Nov. 22 at Tampa Bay
Dec. 7 vs. Buffalo
Dec. 20 vs. Anaheim
Dec. 28 at Tampa Bay
Jan. 10 at Pittsburgh
Feb. 9 vs. Montreal
March 29 vs. Chicago
April 4 at NY Rangers

I like the classic JE line a few years ago; “last one out get the lights” when the Bruins eliminated Montreal from the playoffs.
Jack Edwards himself has pointed out to The Bruins Blog that there might be as few as eight games on VS because of non-exclusive coverage down the stretch. Jack fans rejoice!
Love listening to Jack. Got my two roommate who used to be Rangers and Long Islanders fans to become B’s fans just because of Jack’s way with words…..well and the fact that the bruins are good now but we’ll give the credit to the NESN broadcasters
I know we are all hometown people which is exactly why i love Jack and Brick. But no love for Doc? Love that guy! “Rings off the post……oh my!” He might be the best announcer in hockey.
I hate Edwards, he even makes me miss Dale Arnold.
I don’t mind Beninati, but at least VS changes it up sometimes. Brick will likely get the color, and there have been rare Edwards appearances on VS.
Either way, deal with the crappy time delay and turn on the radio, Goucher does a better job than most, and Beers is on par with Brick.
sweet. i only have to listen to joe beninati for 11 regular season games. long live jack and brick and bring nutty back, nesn.

The national pundits are often the last to catch on to a team on the rise. I wonder how much exposure the L.A. Kings are getting. They are another team loaded with good your players. I’d be willing to bet that they aren’t going to get much national TV time either.
L.A. Kings vs Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Finals, it could happen.
I owe Jack Edwards a great debt. His enthusiastic “SAVED BY THOMAS” calls luered my girlfried first onto the couch, and then into the enduring love of hockey.
Now, it is totally legitimate in my house to say “but we can’t do such-n-such . . . there is a Bruins game on, remember?”
From the Hockey News – B’s ranked 3rd in East predictions -
#3 Boston Bruins Why: The Bruins made an early splash in the summer when they acquired Nathan Horton and Gregory Campbell from Florida a few days before the entry draft. Coming off a year in which they had the league’s worst offense, the Bruins were trying to create a spark with that move. David Krejci had a 21-point regression, while offensive catalyst Marc Savard missed half the year due to injury. Despite these shortcomings, the Bruins got incredible goaltending from Tuukka Rask, who ended the season with the Roger Crozier Saving Grace Award for the league’s best save percentage. With a few weeks to go until the new season, Boston is still over the cap by more than $3 million, so some roster manipulation is still to come. However, the Bruins have been emerging as a powerhouse for a couple years and are only two years removed from a 116-point season. While they’ll be hard-pressed to capture that magic again, Boston is still a team to be reckoned with
NBC’s commentators are god awful anyway… no vibrance whatsoever. Never was a fan of Millbury as an announcer, and having to listen to him and Jeremy Roenick during last year’s playoffs was like listening to the teacher from the Peanuts cartoons. However, I DO like how the network enjoys putting Darren Pang in random places throughout the course of a game.
Jack and Brick are the best announcers in hockey… Edwards is everything a hometown fan wants to hear when they can’t make it to a game.
“….goes flying head over tea kettle…”
“……TURTLE!!!”
“and the Flyers, want a call on Lucic, for hitting JONES from behind!! HA! HAHAHAHAHAH!”
NBC snubs everyone except for Sid vs. Ovie.
