Sturm visits Franciscan Hospital for Children.

Almost all the Bruins players are back in town to start training camp Friday at TD Garden.

But before they officially hit the ice, the Bruins will hit the poker tables to benefit the kids of Franciscan Hospital for Children Wednesday.

The first ever “Sturmy’s Poker Party” will be hosted by injured winger Marco Sturm at the Liberty Hotel in Boston in partnership with the Bruins Foundation. Sturm and his teammates — including Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, David Krejci and Milan Lucic — are expected to be dealt in to benefit the kids.

“We’re totally excited. We’re a pretty small hospital. So we’re completely honored that Marco Sturm chose us as his charity for this first-time event,” said Steven Snyder, Chief Development Officer for Franciscan Hospital. “Having met Marco a couple of times, aside from his incredible reputation as a hockey player I’ve gotten to know him and have seen him with the kids and he has great character.”

In addition to the Texas Hold ’em tournament, the evening will include a silent auction.

A limited number of tickets are available for $250. For information, call Erin Perron at Blue Sky Sports & Entertainment (617) 951-3799 x336 or or Erin McEvoy at the Boston Bruins Foundation 617.624.1955.
