BOSTON — Earlier this week, Bruins head coach Claude Julien said the earliest we might see Tim Thomas play goal would be Saturday’s preseason game at TD Garden.
As expected, Thomas went on the Bruins’ road trip to start the exhibition schedule but did not play. Today after practice, he was non-committal about his availability for tomorrow’s game with the Panthers.
Thomas is still working his way back from offseason hip surgery.
“I don’t want to speak for the coach,” Thomas said after saying he feels fine.
Then when asked what the doctors have told him, he declined to answer.
“Doctor-patient privilege,” he said.
All Thomas would offer is that “there’s a blueprint” for when he might play but “it’s flexible.”
Julien said after the two practice sessions that Thomas would not play Saturday but would hopefully get into one of Boston’s next two games.
