A few of the Bruins’ defensemen had a rough weekend in Prague, but a potential future Bruins backliner enjoyed his time in St. Louis.
David Warsofsky, acquired via trade over the summer from the Blues, showed that town’s hockey fans what they’re missing and earned Hockey East Player of the Week honors with five points (two goals) and a plus-4 rating in Boston University’s two victories at the Ice Breaker Tournament.
The Terriers beat Wisconsin and Notre Dame to capture the Ice Breaker title for the third time overall and the first time since 2008.
Warsofsky, an undersized junior defenseman (generously listed at 5-foot-9), enjoyed an impressive first Boston development camp over the summer. The Bruins will be keeping a close eye on him all winter before deciding whether they should lure him out of school.
