Quotable: Claude continues to try to tamp the flames of goalie controversy

WILMINGTON, Mass. — Now that Tim Thomas has turned his first two starts in goal into an argument for him being back in Vezina Trophy-worthy form, Bruins head coach Claude Julien seemingly has a difficult decision to make about his starter on every game day.
Today after practice at Ristuccia Arena, Julien tried to make it clear that the Thomas-Tuukka Rask competition isn’t a controversy but a blessing for the Bruins.
“It seems to be a problem, or continues to be a problem, for everybody but us,” said the coach. “As I mentioned before, it’s an asset. What a great situation to be in. You’ve got two great goaltenders. With three games this week, there’s a real good possibility you’ll see both of them. That’s basically where I’ll leave it at.”
I don’t know why anyone would think having both Timmy & Tuukka is a problem. If they both play to their potential this season and the rest of the team follows suit it’s going to be a season too remember.
Seriously, what a great ‘problem’ to have. For the money, this tandem should be in the mix once again for the William M. Jennings this season.
I agree with Julien’s sentiments entirely. But you gotta think he rides the hot hand, who wouldn’t? I would love to see both goaltenders put up unreal numbers this season.
