BOSTON — Once again the Bruins stifled Phil Kessel and, more importantly, grabbed two points in a divisional clash with Toronto on Milt Schmidt Night.
The Bruins have now won five of seven games from the Kessel-led Leafs in the two seasons since they traded the winger after blanking Toronto, 2-0, tonight at TD Garden.
Here’s a quick glance at the box score:
•Patrice Bergeron scored his 100th career goal.
•Tyler Seguin scored his second NHL goal — first as a Bruin in TD Garden.
•With 20 saves, Tim Thomas recorded his second shutout of the season and 19th of his NHL career. He is now 5-0-0 to start the season, which is the longest winning streak by a Bruins goaltender from the start of a season since Tiny Thompson went 6-0-0 in the 1937-38 season.
