Legends of the Bruins greet Milt Schmidt/By S. Bradley
BOSTON — Once again the Bruins stifled Phil Kessel and, more importantly, grabbed two points in a divisional clash with Toronto on Milt Schmidt Night.
The Bruins have now won five of seven games from the Kessel-led Leafs in the two seasons since they traded the winger after blanking Toronto, 2-0, tonight at TD Garden.
Here’s a quick glance at the box score:
•Patrice Bergeron scored his 100th career goal.
•Tyler Seguin scored his second NHL goal — first as a Bruin in TD Garden.
•With 20 saves, Tim Thomas recorded his second shutout of the season and 19th of his NHL career. He is now 5-0-0 to start the season, which is the longest winning streak by a Bruins goaltender from the start of a season since Tiny Thompson went 6-0-0 in the 1937-38 season.

the Bruins looked like the better team the whole way through. great shutdown play with no slack in the third. McQuaid played well and nobody looked weak. Wheeler helped his value; if he is traded as rumored, I hope that, out of the recently dressing players, nobody other than Ryder, Paille, McGrattan are packaged with him. great team. no reason they won’t dominate this season. I don’t see many losing streaks to come any time soon. I’m also pretty sure Thomas has earned the majority of starts for quite some time into the future.
