BOSTON — Whether they like it or not, Phil Kessel and Tyler Seguin are always going to be interlocked in NHL history because they were essentially traded for one another last fall.
After his team’s morning skate at TD Garden today, Leafs winger Kessel said that when he met Seguin in the offseason, the two didn’t discuss their unintentional relationship.
Leafs head coach Ron Wilson was also asked about tying the two players together:
“Phil Kessel’s got seven goals. Tyler has what, one? That’s a trade you talk about in five years when Tyler’s a full-time NHL player. …
“We’re happy with what we have right now, that’s for sure.”
