Column: Bruins have a heck of a bargain in Thornton

I agree this may be the best 4th line in the league… but come on, Matt. Thorton is not a bargain… Stamkos is a bargain, still working on the rookie contract. Thorton is not going to score 15 goals this year, and guys like him rarely get a mulit-year contract. Its the classic case of taking 2 years at less for reassurance that he is going ot have a job… 800k x 2 > 1.1 x 1 + AHL salary. I love the guy and love the line, but let’s call a spade a spade. They are a 4th line, and they bring a ton of energy and consistent forchekcing. Lunchpail, not suit and tie.
