Final score: Montreal 3, Bruins 1

Marchand separated from Subban/By S. Bradley
BOSTON — However you say tired in French, the Montreal Canadiens have to know that’s how to describe the Bruins tonight.
The Habs took advantage of a Boston team playing the second half of a back-to-back situation to post a pair of third-period goals and outshoot Boston, 15-9, in the last stanza of a 3-1 win over the Bruins at TD Garden tonight.
Boston not only played last night in Pittsburgh, but rallied from two goals down in the third to win and then landed back in the Bay State after midnight.
Here’s a quick glance at the box score:
•Tuukka Rask is now 0-4-1 on the season despite stopping 38 shots.
•The Montreal power play entered the game last in the NHL in success percentage and the Boston penalty kill was first. So, of course, the Habs scored twice in five opportunities, including the game-winning goal by Brian Gionta.
•Shawn Thornton was the hits leader (5) and the shots leader (5) on the evening for the Bruins.
tuuka has zero confidence right now and it shows perfectly on that subban goal, he didnt even leave his crease to challenge the shooter whatsoever and left the left side of the net wide open for subbans choosing. look at price on the chara goal, he jumped out right at chara but big z found the almost nonexistent hole.
also another play when bergeron lost the puck behind the net rask was upright and not defending his post and moen got a great chance to put the game out of reach with almost 10 min left in the game
Some observations from last night:
1. Rask has to come up with that Subban goal in the 1st.
2. I like Subban and think that he’s going to be a great player, but someone has to plant him when he’s running around the Bruins zone like that. Stop looking at the puck and bury him.
3. Price looked pretty good last night.
4. Quite Garden from start to finish. I don’t know if it just didn’t translate well over the broadcast, but IMO, a B’s Habs games should have been much louder. .
5. There’s not much anyone could have done on the 2nd goal on the PP early in the 3rd. Super saucy set-up with a beyond fantastic finish.
6. I’m glad that Brick explained why Stuart didn’t pick up Kostitson on the 3rd goal (worried about the trailing foward), but man, he’s gotta pick up somebody there, so why not one of the guys 5 feet from the net. I think I woke up my neighbors yelling about that one.
