WILMINGTON, Mass. — Bruins head coach Claude Julien saw his players “lose their legs” Thursday night in the third period of their 3-1 loss to Montreal.
So today, he gave them a chance to find those extremities.
His healthy players were granted a day of just a quick off-ice workout, while his recovering injured players skated with the goaltenders under the watch of a couple assistant coaches.
As for those injured players, Marc Savard continues to progress and could join his teammates for practice soon. Marco Sturm is also on schedule. Johnny Boychuk, who is still sporting a cast over his left wrist, says he might be able to get back as soon as next weekend. November 20 would be four weeks, which was Boychuk’s initial prognosis for a return.
“I’m just seeing when the doctor’s say so,” said Boychuk after he was asked about targeting a specific return date.
David Krejci, out since last Saturday’s concussion, rode the bike for the first time today. Julien said it was nothing major, but a solid first step.

Plus, Julien keeps things in house for the most part. I’m sure they heard about the lack of effort, but the Bruins have been consistent enough to this point that he won’t yet subject them to the ire of the public, more so that they would get as a default.
It certainly accounts for some of lack of effort though you don’t seem to realize it. I do agree that there was more going on than tired legs though.
What a crock. This excuse about back to back games and weak legs makes me sick. It is November and they are tired already? Last night was pathetic and I don’t tolerate the “they were tired” garbage. Oh no, they played 2 nights in a row…give me a break.
Boychuk shouldn’t hurry. he needs to stay healthy for the rest of the season and rushing back won’t help.
