Celebrate Ryder style/By S. Bradley
BOSTON — If that was the real Martin Brodeur, then maybe something’s wrong with him.
The Bruins did what they had to do tonight to get a win and were the beneficiary of some soft goals allowed by the New Jersey future Hall-of-Famer in a 3-0 win at TD Garden.
Here’s a quick glance at the box score:
•Tim Thomas made 28 saves in recording his fourth shutout of the season and 21 of his NHL career.
•Michael Ryder and Blake Wheeler both scored one goal, but Ryder also drew two penalties and Wheeler one during an active night for the much-maligned forwards.
•Mark Stuart led the way with five hits, most of which were of the bone-rattling variety.
Man, the Devils and Marty look bad. Really. Bad. It was a good win for the B’s, but that’s not a good team they played by any stretch of the imagination.
Really liked the little chip by Rex out of his own zone, that sent & set up the Wheeler goal. I think that play was over looked. Great look by Looch to set up Horts too, they finally they looked like they knew what they were trying to do on the breakout/transition last night, albeit against an AHL team.
nice to see wheels score a goal. he hasn’t been able to put any on net to save his life lately.
sturm ain’t coming back anytime soon if ryder keeps this up.
