Chiarelli
WILMINGTON, Mass. — Although he wouldn’t reveal any of the subject matter from the conversations, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said today in a quick sidebar with TheBruinsBlog.net that he has spoken to NHL Executive VP Colin Campbell since the uncovering of Campbell’s critical emails earlier this week.
“I’ve spoken to him. My conversations with him are private, but I’ve spoken to him,” said Chiarelli.
The most offensive email contained criticism of Bruins center Marc Savard by Campbell. Last night on NHL Overtime on VS, Campbell said he planned to sit down with Savard somewhere down the road to hash things out. Chiarelli said he would be open to such a summit.
“If both parties would want to do it, yeah,” said the GM.

chia did colin a favor by putting savvy and greg on the same team.
problem solved – no more whiny daddy emails.
In an earlier post, a blogger suggested that Colin Campbell should have been in touch with Marc Savard by now to “explain” apologize or whatever. If such a conversation has not taken place yet, then Colin Campbell is woefully ignorant and needs a remedial course from Miss Manners. At this point in time , if no call has been forthcoming, and I was Savard, then I would tell Campbell to suck eggs (or an other appropriate action). However, given Campbells past and current attitude about “sitting down somewhere down the road” and his current position vis a vis the League that would be most inadvisable cause he would then really be out to “get”him. Maybe his best approach is to wait for Campbell to meet Savard on Savard’s own turf, hear what he has to say, and then leave without acknowledging his comments. But then these two guys did have a coach/player relationship in the past, and maybe Savard is a bigger and better person than I am.
