WILMINGTON, Mass. — Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli, after revealing that center Marc Savard has been cleared for non-contact practices, also said that he has a date in mind for the playmaker’s return to game action.
“I’ve got one in mind. I’m not going to disclose it,” said Chiarelli, at first sounding like he’d been transported back to the Cold War.
But then Chiarelli expanded on that point:
“These things change This is a real big step, and the tests coming up are big steps. But he’s passed every test to date and this was a big one also.”
The big step was passing a conditioning test this morning. Savard, who will travel with the team on its upcoming Florida road trip, will take a couple more tests in the week ahead.
“I’ve got one in mind. I’m not going to disclose it.”
