Julien back for first post-Hunwick practice
WILMINGTON, Mass. — Bruins head coach Claude Julien returned to the ice today after attending Pat Burns’ funeral yesterday. Matt Hunwick is on his way to Denver.
Here’s what the Bruins’ lines looks liked at Ristuccia Arena:
Lucic-Krejci-Horton
Recchi-Bergeron-Wheeler
Caron-Campbell-Thornton
Marchand-Seguin-Ryder
Extras: Sturm, Savard, Paille
All six remaining D and both goaltenders were also on the ice.
Here’s what the pairs looked like for one lengthy drill:
Chara-Ference
Seidenberg-Boychuk
Stuart-McQuaid
Haha… ooops. He was supposed to be in there instead of Caron. Shows what happens when I post at 2am… Maybe it’s my subconsciouos suggesting that Boston is going to lend Tyler to the Canadian Jr. Team?!
You don’t even have Seguin on your lines CNL.
Kyle your lines look good but I’d rather see Segs on the line from practice because they are young feisty guys that don’t have the system beat into their brains yet. I think they just might get creative instead of same old same old.
PS… I don’t think Savard will come right back and be the top centre. Those were more what I’d like to see the lines become once his game is back (finger’s crossed).
Oh, and with regards to my Seguin comments. Obviously in tighter games I completely agree with his ice-time. I was more referring to games where we need to find a lift. I think he could provide it.
I like Kyle’s lines too but I also wonder why we strayed from what got it done when we were clicking? I understand losing Krejci disrupted that, but all personnel is now back and healthy, so what gives?
I would also like to see more of Seguin. All of these random line experiments, but never one where we get to see what Seguin can do when his leash gets loosened a little. If we’re down 3 goals why isn’t he given some time on the top 2 lines, even as a winger?! During a couple of our recent stinkers, he’s showed some flashes of brilliance only to be deflated by not getting a regular shift. How do you expect a kid, that is used to playing a lot, to get it going taking 12-15 shifts/game max?!
It still baffles me how Krejci went down and somehow Tyler got demoted. Suddenly Wheeler was a centre?!
Mind-blowing.
When Savvy comes back, let’s see if Krecji can get the old mojo back, playing between Wheeler & Ryder. That line owned 2 seasons ago.
1. Lucic Savvy Horton
2a. Wheeler Krecji Ryder
2b. Recchi Bergy Caron
Chk. Thornton Campbell Marchand
Me likey!
I like Kyle’s lines as well.
I don’t like Wheeler in the middle. The team has enough centres…doesn’t need another one. Plus Ryder and Seguin had some good chemistry early on in the season.
I would rather see Seguin as far from Ryder as possible. Put him with Krejci or Bergeron and put Wheeler back in the middle
I’d rather see Kyle’s lines, too.

I’d rather see
Lucic krecji Horton
Recchi Bergeron seguin
Caron wheeler Ryder
Thornton Campbell Marchand
I think the Seguin line, which I’m guessing is the 3rd line, looks promising. Tons of speed and energy which is exactly what this team needs. Just give them so good shifts and let’s see what they can do.
Why aren’t the successful line combos from earlier in the year being used? They are all messed up and why mess with what works? The offense has been poor the last few games.
