P-Bruins: 5-game points streak ends

Arniel
The Bruins’ Providence (AHL) farm club now sits two points shy of fourth place in the Atlantic Division after a 1-2-0 week last week.
After losing 4-1 Friday with leading scorer Jamie Arniel in their lineup, the P-Bruins could only muster one goal without him (he was on recall to Boston) Sunday in a 5-1 loss to Portland.
Arniel had been the offensive hero Wednesday night, when he scored the overtime game-winning goal (his ninth goal of the season) in a 2-1 victory.
Who’s hot?
Arniel, returned to Providence Monday, is on a six-game points streak with 3-4-7 totals in that span. … Forward David Ling, back in the AHL for the first time since 2007-08, scored one goal in each of the P-Bruins’ two weekend games — his first two goals of the season.
Who’s cold?
Goaltender Nolan Schaefer allowed four goals on just 19 shots Sunday before he was pulled. He has now lost three straight and surrendered 12 goals on 95 shots in that span. His season’s stats are a tough-to-look-at .892 save percentage and 3.40 goals-against average.
Injury update
Defenseman Steve Kampfer was injured in Friday’s game and did not return the rest of the weekend. … Max Sauve remained out. … Jordan Smotherman returned after a seven-game absence Sunday.
Coming up
Dec. 3 vs. Hartford
Dec. 4 at Bridgeport
Dec. 5 vs. Manchester
No, the players are just young and Hamill is a bust.
They need a goalie, badly.
YEs, thanks for the P-B’s press. As a frustrated season ticket holder, it has been god awful watching them at the Dunk this year. This team has no finish, playing dump & chase dump & chase…..I’ve waited all summer for this??? Why don’t we have guys that can score? Nolan Schaefer looks awful….hope when Boston clears some salary cap, we can get some decent AHL guys in the deal(s)…doubt they’ll get much else. I think this team gets badly overlooked when it comes time to signing guys and building the roster. Yes, the AHL is for development, I get it. However, the guys need to know howe to win….and without better players, how’s that going to happen???? I suspect our drafting is not up to snuff. C’mon, lets get this fixed already!!!
