Savard/By S. Bradley
Bruins center Marc Savard has been more than generous with his time with the local media, including TheBruinsBlog.net, leading up to and after his comeback from post-concussion syndrome.
But often in a 1-on-1 setting, particularly with Elliotte Friedman of the CBC and Hockey Night in Canada, players tend to open up even more.
Tonight Savard was the topic of Friedman’s “Inside Hockey” segment on the HNIC pregame show. In the interview, Savard revealed that he had agreed to play for Ottawa and Toronto leading up to the draft last June, and that the people he thanks the most for getting through his recent tough times are his ex-wife and children.
Here’s the complete piece:

Thanks Matt. I’d love to see a feature on how extremely young players, i.e., Tyler Seguin, Jordan Caron, etc. are adjusting to not only life as a NHL player but also life on their own. I know a lot of these guys went away from home to play junior hockey, but I’m sure they had host families there. How are these teenagers handling being on their own in a new city while also performing in the most elite hockey league in the world?
Thank you Mike & stay safe. Let me know what else you want to see more of on the blog and I’ll try to get it up.
Happy holidays.

Matt- thanks for posting this great interview of Savvy on HNIC. For those of us in the military deployed across the world, we’re thankful for people like you keeping us in touch with the sport we love. Excellent to see Savvy back looking well and healthy. Adding Savvy is like making a huge trade deadline acquisition and allows us to roll 4 solid lines. If we get a little help on back end then we have to be one of favorites for the Cup. Have a great holiday season.
