At the risk of influencing the democratic process, there’s probably no real competition for this week’s Bruin of the Week honor.

Nonetheless, it’s up to you the readers to decide who the real star of Boston’s 2-0-1 week is.

After scoring a big goal in Philadelphia and posting a plus-1 rating, rookie Tyler Seguin shifted to wing after the return of Marc Savard and continued to play well. He was plus-1 in the rout of Tampa Bay and then added an assist and a shootout goal in Toronto. Seguin was plus-3 for the week.

Although he didn’t hit the score sheet in Toronto, Milan Lucic was a plus-1 just two days after he posted a 1-1-2, plus-3 night in the blowout of the Lightning. The night before, Lucic salted away the win in Philadelphia with an empty-net goal. He was plus-5 for the week.

Michael Ryder has been criticized a ton the last two seasons, and he had a rough night against the Maple Leafs with no shots on goal and a post hit in the shootout. But he was plus-1 against Toronto, and against the Lightning he posted 1-2-3 totals and a plus-2 rating. He started the week with an assist and a plus-1 rating in Philadelphia.

The Bruins right now not only have a Vezina Trophy favorite, but a Hart Trophy candidate — and he’s the same person. Tim Thomas continued to carry the Bruins this week with 116 saves on 119 shots, including a 41-save shutout of the Flyers. Sure, he goofed in the shootout against Toronto and slid into the net with Phil Kessel’s shot, but the Bruins wouldn’t have been in overtime or the shootout without Thomas’ heroics, including a save on Francois Beauchemin in the extra session that will be on every highlight the rest of the season.

He picked up an assist against the Lightning and a roughing minor against Scott Hartnell of Philadelphia. Thomas also stopped Hartnell’s penalty shot with the game still in doubt.
