Bruins celebrate the tying goal/By S. Bradley

BOSTON — When the Bruins cash in on a scoring chance, even the referees can’t believe it.

Luckily for Boston, the NHL has video review.

Replays proved that Dennis Seidenberg’s slap shot from the top of the left circle grazed Mark Recchi and found the top shelf behind Ryan Miller 51 seconds after the play for a 3-2 overtime victory over Buffalo tonight at TD Garden.

The power-play goal ended a frustrating night for the Bruins on a joyous note. Against red-hot Ryan Miller, the Bruins mustered 36 shots on net but also missed the net 18 times and had 18 shots blocked by the Sabres.

Here’s a look at the box score:

•Tim Thomas won the battle of the U.S. Olympic goalies with 28 saves.

•Nathan Horton and Milan Lucic scored Boston’s other goals. Lucic, Seidenberg and Zdeno Chara fired five shots on goal apiece.

•David Krejci recorded two assists on the night.
