Slice of life is good for Lucic

WILMINGTON, Mass. — Bruins forward Milan Lucic figures that had the cut he received on his wrist from Tyler Ennis’ skate blade Tuesday night in the win over Buffalo gone another millimeter longer, he would’ve been headed for the emergency room instead of the Sabres’ net.
But Lucic got lucky, as the Sabres forward’s skate cut up and down Lucic’s arm — instead of across — and didn’t hit any vital parts of the Boston banger’s circulatory system. The training staff taped him tight after his failed bid to score against Ryan Miller.
“If that happened last year, it probably would’ve cut me all the way down because anything that could go wrong went wrong,” said Lucic about his injury-plagued 2009-10 season.
The fourth-year forward, who admitted life is much more grand this winter than last, said he tried out some wrist guards today during practice at Ristuccia Arena and it didn’t feel any different than when he plays without one, so he’ll probably add it to his game paraphernalia.
How would it affect performance.
When a tenth of a second means everything, it matters.
Remember, most football players dont wear a cup.
Speed is that important.
Boychuks injury may have been prevented by a wrist guard as well
i know i’d wear one
It’s amazing how little players wear these things. If Seidenberg’s injury wasn’t enough for a Bruins (or any player) to wear one, I don’t know what is.
