WILMINGTON, Mass. — As of this afternoon, all the Bruins would officially say about Mark Stuart’s injury situation was that he’s out indefinitely.

While Stuart was having his “upper-body” injury examined by doctors, Steve Kampfer was going through his first NHL regular-season practice at Ristuccia Arena.

After the session, head coach Claude Julien talked about expectations for Kampfer filling in for Stuart.

“He’s a good puck-handler. He moves the puck well,” said the coach. “He’s got some mobility. He’s had a good year. I think it’s an opportunity for him to step in and show us he’s a good puck-moving defenseman and something that we need. So we liked his training camp, we liked the way he handled himself under pressure and hopefully we see more of that in the next little while.”
