Many Bruins fans are dreaming of the day 2010 second-round pick Jared Knight carves out his territory in front of the opposing net and provides Boston with some offense.
New York Islanders star John Tavares thinks that day could come soon. Tavares was Knight’s teammate in London for part of a season before he was drafted by the Isles first overall in 2009. The two even skated on the same line at times for the Knights.
“I really enjoyed playing with him in junior,” said Tavares today after the Isles’ morning skate at TD Garden in preparation for tonight’s game with the Bruins. “I know he always looked up to me a lot, always asking for advice. And one thing you’ll find about him, he’s one of the hardest-working guys around. He’ll show up in training camp in the best shape. [He’ll spend] endless hours on the ice. So we always had a lot of fun working out together and working on our skills on the ice during the season.”
In 28 games this season, Knight has 12-16-28 totals.

Knight will be in Providence next year.
This is great to hear. I’m excited about Knight. Going to be nice next year to get some of the veterans off the payroll and insert these young guys with speed and skill and on the cheap.
