The news today that Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin and Jeremy Roenick are going to be part of the Dec. 20 broadcast of the Price is Right reminded me of a similar appearance by an NHL star around this time last year.

Bruins center Marc Savard did the honors, along with Philadelphia’s Scott Hartnell, last year on the long-running game show when it came time to introduce an NHL Winter Classic-themed showcase. Now it’ll be up to Crosby, Ovechkin and Roenick to do the same this year in advance of the big Heinz Field clash on New Year’s Day.
