Point – Digger.
too bad we didn’t get Heidi Androl in return.
good luck Marco, hope you score a lot og goals out west.
Just a case of bird in hand. Sturm is an unknown with now 2 re-constructed knees. Ryder has been performing reasonably well (although shy of expectations accompanying his contract$), and there’s no guarantee that Sturm will round back into form or stay healthy. In terms of character, Sturm wins hands down, but performance wise its tough to predict how Marco will fare. I wish him all the best in LA.
The Bruins are doing a nice job of pairing winning now with a lot of hope for the future. These moves are necessary to keep that balance, good luck to Sturm out west!
I’m with John. Did anyone notice we gave Sturm away? Not even a bag of pucks in return. Ryder’s getting 25 goals this year. I’ll be surprised if Sturm gets 10.
What a great guy. Loved his emotion on every goal he scored.
We’ll miss you, Sturmy!
I guess it had to happen, but I know I’ll miss the guy.
Getting rid of Ryder in favor of an aging Sturm with a bum knee would have been idiotic. This was the right move.
I’m not convinced either as it should have been Ryder that was dumped!

He’s going to be missed. While I’m very happy for him that he is with a good team I can’t help but wonder if the Bruins made the right decision. Perhaps it wasn’t possible to trade Ryder, but I’m just not convinced this was the right move.
