Final score: Buffalo 3, Bruins 2

Stafford
Right about the 10:55 mark of the third period, the Bruins wished Drew Stafford had waited one more game to make his return to the Buffalo lineup.
The Sabres winger returned from a four-game absence to score a hat trick, including the game-winner with 9:05 left in regulation, in a 3-2 win over the Bruins at HSBC Arena.
Boston had led the game 1-0 and 2-1 but the Sabres replied 1:12 and 32 seconds later, respectively, after each Bruins goal.
Here’s a quick glance at the box score:
•Tuukka Rask made his second start in three games for the Bruins and made 32 saves on 35 shots.
•Michael Ryder and David Krejci scored the Bruins’ goals, with rookie Steve Kampfer picking up his first NHL point by assisting on Ryder’s goal.
•Milan Lucic led the Bruins with seven hits, but his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty from the bench put the Bruins shorthanded for the final 1:38 of the game.
ill give stafford the second goal.. but really anybody on the ice could have scored the other two.. bounces right to him with a wide open net to shoot at.. all these bad bounces seem to be going against tuuka, to the point where im starting to feel bad for him!
Yeah, the refs were not great, but with the effectiveness that Buff showed on the PP last night, the boys should have done anything and everything to stay out of the box. With that being said, yeah, some of those calls were pretty, prrreeeettttttttyyyy weak.
On another note, it was pretty embarassing to see the passion and push back, that this team should be indentified with, not show up until after the final whistle. That sort of stuff (passion, fight, iron will) should be happening during the game, not after.
reading elswhere Lucic called the ref “a joke” and “embarrassing.” So what, he got a penalty for being right?
Refs blew this one hardcore. First with the Thornton “interference” on Miller when Miller was three feet out of his crease and in the middle of a skating lane… not only did they take away a goal from the B’s, they essentially gave one to Buffalo. Then with the Lucic penalty when he was chirping from the BENCH? With under 2 minutes left? Honestly, hockey players talk all game…
On a side note, I was pirating the stream of the game to my laptop for a while, and had to listen to the MSG announcers. One of them called Patrick Kaleta “effective”. HA. HA HA HA. GOOD ONE
