The road trip that was supposed to be an opportunity to take over the Northeast Division turned out to be a wake-up call for the Bruins.
Following up on last night’s loss at Buffalo, the Bruins dropped a 4-3 decision at Montreal tonight — proving that they are still very much a team searching for chemistry and an identity with 31 games now in the books.
Here’s a quick look at the box score:
•It was just the second time all season Tim Thomas allowed four goals, but he was still a major reason the Bruins were even in the game by the end. He finished with 37 saves on 41 shots, including a few big ones early in the second period when the game could’ve gotten out of hand in the Canadiens’ favor.
•Marc Savard finally scored his first goal of the season and added an assist. And in his return to action after two games out, Tyler Seguin recorded an assist.
•David Krejci recorded his first NHL fighting major in a bout with Mike Cammalleri, who was earned his first fighting major of his NHL career.

Yes, I heard Bob Cole call Krejci a “Bruins tough guy” and couldn’t believe my ears! I replayed it 4 times! Did anyone else think that Cammalleri swinging at Krejci when he went down was a little “against the code”? Am I missing something or am I just that much of a homer?
Bob Cole is getting a little senile…agreed
Did anyone hear the CBC play-by-play guy calling Krejci a “tough guy”? He added to his blunder by saying that Cammalleri fighting will energize the Habs because he’s a star player but doesn’t fight. Also that he was looking for the linesman right away because he was squaring up with such a fearsome fighter. He was completely unaware that it was Krejci’s first career fight. How is that possible? What a hack.

Another blunder by the refs on that penalty shot call… complete horse crap. They were so far behind the play that they assumed there was no way Chara and Kampfer could legally disarm Camo… which they did. Gah.
