The road trip that was supposed to be an opportunity to take over the Northeast Division turned out to be a wake-up call for the Bruins.

Following up on last night’s loss at Buffalo, the Bruins dropped a 4-3 decision at Montreal tonight — proving that they are still very much a team searching for chemistry and an identity with 31 games now in the books.

Here’s a quick look at the box score:

•It was just the second time all season Tim Thomas allowed four goals, but he was still a major reason the Bruins were even in the game by the end. He finished with 37 saves on 41 shots, including a few big ones early in the second period when the game could’ve gotten out of hand in the Canadiens’ favor.

•Marc Savard finally scored his first goal of the season and added an assist. And in his return to action after two games out, Tyler Seguin recorded an assist.

•David Krejci recorded his first NHL fighting major in a bout with Mike Cammalleri, who was earned his first fighting major of his NHL career.
