Final score: Anaheim 3, Bruins 0

This says it all about the Bruins vs. Anaheim/By S. Bradley

BOSTON — Forrest Gump’s Bruins were at it again tonight.

You never know what you’re going to get with this team period to period — never mind game to game — and what the Bruins produced against Anaheim at TD Garden was enough to make a box of chocolates taste like week-old liver.

In what might have been the weakest 45-shot performance in the NHL in years, Boston was shut out 3-0 by Jonas Hiller and the Ducks.

The Bruins actually attempted 88 shots, but 23 missed the net and 20 were blocked by Ducks players. If that isn’t a tell-tale sign of lack of focus and effort, I don’t know what is.

Here’s a glance at the rest of the box score:

•Dennis Seidenberg was on the ice for all three goals, including a shorthanded score by Corey Perry. So the Bruins defenseman was minus-3.

•Michael Ryder led the team with seven shots on goal. Maybe one of them was a solid scoring threat, however.

•Tim Thomas’ save percentage took a beating with three goals allowed on just 25 shots. He now leads Atlanta’s Ondrej Pavelev .948 to .943 for league lead in that department. Those two goaltenders could match up Thursday at TD Garden.
