WILMINGTON, Mass. — A majority of observers are pointing blame for the Bruins’ inconsistent play at the head coach.
Claude Julien today, after his team’s practice at Ristuccia Arena, admitted in a response to a question about the speculation that he’s aware of the rampant criticism. But he also said it’s not bothering him.
“I don’t let that get to me,” said Julien, who has been twice fired in the NHL prior to coming to Boston. “I come in, I’m going to coach the same way and I’m going to do what I do the best I can – simple as that. Honestly, I just go out there today and yesterday, very positive with the players and do my job just like I would any other day. So again, I hear what’s going out there. But I’m certainly not listening or reading because that’s certainly not a helpful thing for me. And all you do is, you keep going forward.”
Earlier today, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli gave Julien a vote of confidence during his weekly appearance on the Toucher & Rich radio show.

Well said PCL
The difinition of insanity per Albert Einstein: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Hey Claude, don’t be so obtuse. Your track record shows a common failing, with common results. Quit the insanity and change things up. Your team wants it, your bosses seem to want it, albeit without coming right out and saying it, and your fans would definitely like to see something tweaked. I’m not saying re-invent the wheel, but loosen the creativity noose a bit, eh? Let the guys use the offensive gifts that they have, open up the game a little. Yes, your system has made this team respectable, but from a defensive side only. Take the path less chosen, by you anyway, and alter your system. Don’t sacrafice your job, again, by being stubborn.
What is the obsession with Gordon? This isn’ the time to blow this team up. This is classic overreaction. Now, if they are playing like this in late January and into February….

Scott Gordon.
Who would they replace him with? If there was anon worthy the Islanders/Devils/Leafs would have claimed him by now

interesting to see when (not if) cam fires claude.
Great! If Julien keeps doing the same thing i.e. failing to adapt, motivate his team, and have a useful offensive strategy we’ll see a new coach in Beantown before the All-star break.
