Team Canada kept just one 2011 draft-eligible player for its 2011 World Junior Championship entry, and today Team USA did the Canadians one better.
USA Hockey’s 22-man roster announced this morning includes no players eligible for next June’s draft in Minnesota. The defending gold-medal champions should be loaded for a potential repeat, but amateur scouts can now focus even more on Sweden and the other European entries.

Should be a good tournament – US has lots of talented returnees, Sweden looks good despite losing a prelim to Canada. Hope my Canadians can pull one out, but it’ll be tough!
Don’t know how many people have it, but NHL Network, like last year, is showing these games. Starts Sunday 4pm Canada V Russia, then 8pm USA v Finland. ‘Twas a great tourny last year, and this year on home soil, with the boys picked as the favorites, it should be just as good, if not better.
