Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli had the following statement today regarding Milan Lucic’s hearing with the NHL about the winger’s match penalty from Thursday night.
“The NHL has informed us that Milan will not be suspended as a result of the match penalty assessed to him during our game against the Thrashers last Thursday. He will be fined $2,500 for the punch thrown in the scrum and $1,000 for making an obscene gesture directed at the Thrashers bench. He will join the team on the flight to Florida and be available for Monday’s game against the Panthers.”
I think Meyer’s flop when he was punched led to the “no suspension” ruling. That was so NBA.
Yah it wasn’t because a 25 year old Campbell could replace a 32 year old Begin or Chiarelli didn’t scout Greg at all..Nah…
chia is a genius for signing greg campbell.
I admit it – I was wrong . Gibbz had it right in thinking that no further action was required (apart from a fine for a sucker punch). Any guesses as to who was the man that made the decision? I am delighted that Lucic will not receive any suspension – Thursday night will be worth watching.
Now this is a christmas gift

Think the NHL office is a little scared of the Bruins…..
