The Bruins’ three-game winning streak and one-shootout victory streak both came to an end tonight, but they had nothing to hang their heads about while leaving Atlanta.

Arguably, Boston played its best game of its road trip so far in outshooting the Thrashers 44-32 in a 3-2 shootout loss.

The Bruins lost the shootout 2-0 and are now 2-0-1 with two games left on their five-game road trip.

Here’s a glance at the box score:

•Goaltender Tim Thomas, making his season-high seventh straight start, stopped 30 of 32 shots to earn the point. But he was unable to stop the Thrashers’ two shooters, Bryan Little and Tim Stapleton.

•Patrice Bergeron and Blake Wheeler scored Boston’s goals, while Tobias Enstrom scored both of Atlanta’s goals — both on the power play.

•Wheeler led the way for the Bruins with five shots on goal. Five other players (Milan Lucic, Mark Recchi, Zdeno Chara, Marc Savard, Michael Ryder) registered four shots on net.
