Rask/By S. Bradley
Call the Mayo Clinic, Tuukka Rask is a medical marvel.
The Bruins sophomore goaltender has to be the first in NHL history to win a game while carrying “crushed confidence.” Or at least that’s the condition some diagnosed Rask with after head coach Claude Julien pulled his 23-year-old netminder after just one period Saturday night.
With 36 saves on 37 shots, including a perfect 18 of 18 in the third period, Rask indeed showed that Julien’s decision Saturday was nothing more than a bump along the road rather than an immovable road block. There’s no reason for Rask’s confidence level to be low now, and Julien’s faith in both of his goaltenders should be overflowing as his team returns home after a 3-0-2 road trip.
Here’s a glance at the rest of the box score:
•Nathan Horton ended his nine-game goal drought and Marc Savard did the same to his seven-game goal-less stretch.
•With an assist, Milan Lucic registered a point for the first time in seven games.
•Phil Kessel’s failures against Boston continued, as the speedy winger fired eight shots on goal, three shots that were blocked and four that missed the target. And so continues his goal-less career against his former team.

I am going to give myself a pat on the back for saying play Tuuka against TOR even with the Buff game. I would start him again against Minny
Seguin is looking better each game. A bounce goes his way or two and his is scoring goals it is so great to see. Lines look great they are all contributing in some way or another th
I never got the idea that Julien was leaning one way or another. But I think CJ, Chia and the rest of the coaches discussed it and came up with the idea.

“Call the Mayo Clinic, Tuukka Rask is a medical marvel.” Awesome!
Matt, Do you think Chiarelli made a call too Julien telling him he had to start Rask or do you think Julien changed his mind ?
Thanks
