After a 1-1-1 week which was capped by the Bruins pulling defeat from the jaws of victory in Montreal, it’s difficult to single out even a few solid individual performances over the club’s three games.
That’s why this week there are only three nominees for Bruin of the Week honors.
Patrice Bergeron scored twice in Montreal and would’ve been lauded as a hero had Boston held on for the win Saturday night. For the week, Bergeron posted 2-1-3 totals and a plus-1 rating. However, his work on the draws was a little off — 17-for-45 (38 percent).
After getting pulled in Buffalo last weekend in Buffalo, Tuukka Rask bounced back with a couple solid starts in goal. He beat Toronto on the road with 36 saves and then lost to Minnesota at home in a 31-save performance. He made a highlight-reel save on Martin Havlat along the way against the Wild. For the week, his save percentage was .957.
Rookie Steven Kampfer has been a revelation for the Bruins since coming up from the Providence (AHL) farm club. He enjoyed another solid week with a plus-1 rating over the three games and a goal that he scored against Minnesota. He also fired six shots on net.
So I ask you my readers:
Who should be the Bruin of the Week?
- Patrice Bergeron (48%, 59 Votes)
