Bruins defenseman Kampfer hopes Hershey trip isn’t in his future

BOSTON — Although it was mostly overshadowed by the announcement of the NHL All-Star reserves, the AHL announced it’s All-Star teams today.
The only Providence representative selected isn’t even playing for the P-Bruins right now — defenseman Steve Kampfer.
A few hours before the start of Boston’s TD Garden date with Ottawa, Kampfer acknowledged he’s honored by the selection. But, obviously, he’d rather not participate in AHL All-Star Game, which is slated for Jan. 31 in Hershey.
“Obviously I want to stay here [with Boston] and I hope that I’m up here when that game is going on,” said the rookie.
In 15 games for Boston, Kampfer has registered 3-1-4 totals and a plus-4 rating since he was called up Dec. 8. With Providence, the blueliner posted 3-13-16 totals and a plus-10 rating in 20 games.
Are you kidding me, Matt? Please – for the sake of my sanity, please don’t even broach this subject again. Kampfer goes nowhere thank you.
