As long as he doesn’t expect to have dessert — in-season, that is — Peter Bondra might get a satisfying free meal from countryman Zdeno Chara in the near future.

The retired Washington Capitals sniper tells Yahoo! Sports hockey writer Greg Wyshynski today that if the Bruins captain wants to borrow his old hat trick celebration, it’s going to cost the big guy.

“If ‘Zee’ used that move, I think it’s going to cost him dinner next time he comes to Washington,” Bondra told Wyshynski.

Chara forgoes sweets during the season, but Bondra could probably coax a few other courses out of the defensemen who, Wyshynski reports, keeps in touch with Bondra now and then.
