While the NHL felt Tim Thomas’ play from last week was worthy of its First Star award, readers of The Bruins Blog opted to honor another standout performance from that period of time.
Winger Brad Marchand was voted the Bruin of the Week after he posted 3-2-5 totals and a plus-6 rating in four games.
Who should be the Bruin of the Week?

Marchand has come a long way since he was fighting for a roster spot in training camp. He has since graduated from a spot on the fourth line to a second-line role next to Patrice Bergeron and Mark Recchi. His four shorthanded goals lead the entire NHL, and his plus-21 rating is tops among NHL rookies.
Last week, he helped the Bruins demolish Colorado with his first four-point game (two goals, two assists). He also scored a huge goal in the win in the second half of the home-and-home series with Carolina.
Prior to the start of the season, Marchand told one reporter he wanted to make the fans of Boston love him. He is certainly winning hearts not just in the stands, but on his own bench and in the front office as well.
