Will the Bruins make any major moves before the trade deadline? Assuming Savard is out, will the B’s try and sign and a notable player using the cap space? Which available players would help the Bruins the most?
Hey Matt,
Would love to see a mailbag response/article comparing the stats, intangibles, and progression of Seguin and Jeff Skinner, among other rookies. Skinner has more points than anyone on the B’s currently, and has one less goal than our leading goal scorer. Yes, the ‘Canes are eighth in the leag in goals for/game, but this kid hasn’t been riding the wave there… he’s second in points, behind Eric Staal. Seguin was the sexy choice in the draft… but as far as immediate/forseeable impact, it looks like Skinner (hard-nosed, skillful skater, patient with puck, goes to the net) could’ve been a better pickup for the B’s organization. Is this egg on the faces of the B’s scouting staff?
Picking up on the “Bruins need more speed up front” theme, does the answer lie in Providence with someone like Max Sauve or do they need to deal from another team before the deadline?
Its my opinon the both Horton and Lucic would be better with a playmaking center and someone with lots of speed on their oposite wings. They just don’t have enough speed or puck handling skills to play on the same line together. Another Brad Marchand would be great!
Can you give your real first name Bojangles?
I’ll hop on Conor’s question and tweak it. With the loss of Marc Savard for what looks like another extended period of time… Do the Bs use the LTIR to hide his salary until year’s end when they can add him to the playoff roster with no penalty, and make a trade with kids (Stuart/McQuaid – Colborne – Bs or Toronto’s first) and picks to add a Real impact player – and does the priority now switch from the back end to top line forward?
Hi Matt,
I know the injuries have hit this year, and the lines have been juggled to account for it, but sometimes it almost seems Julien juggles the lines too much rather than let chemistry develop. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks, Ryan
With the loss of Marc Savard for what looks like another extended period of time, is there a chance of seeing the return of Jordan Caron to the big club?
