At the very least, the Bruins accomplished the bare minimum of what they set out to do before today’s trade deadline.
The Bruins’ Providence (AHL) farm club ranks 28th in the 30-team league in goals against per game.
So the acquisition of goaltender Anton Khudobin from the Minnesota organization can only help the P-Bruins’ cause.

Ference/By S. Bradley
The Bruins are scheduled to take on Ottawa Tuesday with the same roster that they faced Edmonton Sunday because the club made no NHL trades today and defenseman Andrew Ference remains out.

Kaberle/By S. Bradley
After a mostly uneventful trade-deadline day, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli again addressed the status of contract talks with recently acquired defenseman Tomas Kaberle today.

Chiarelli
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli was a brief guest of TradeCentre with James Duthie on TSN this afternoon, some 90 minutes before the arrival of the trade deadline.

Wideman
Last night it was Brad Boyes, today it was Dennis Wideman.
Teams just can’t wait to acquire former Bruins for the stretch run.

Stuart
Even Mark Stuart’s trade from Boston to Atlanta a week and a half ago couldn’t remove the veteran defenseman from the trade rumor mill.
Two of the Bruins’ division rivals set the market for today’s trade deadline last night — one with a signing and one with a trade.
Teams can’t come much hotter than the Bruins right now.
Boston has won five in a row, including all three games it played last week.

Ryder/By S. Bradley
Although this season’s supposed to be Michael Ryder’s swan song with the Bruins, his play down to this point and down the stretch could open the door for a Causeway Street encore.

Or should we say the final score was Tyler Seguin minus-1, Taylor Hall minus-2?
No, seriously, the two super rookies barely factored in the decision tonight in Edmonton.

Ference/By S. Bradley
The Bruins will face Edmonton tonight without one of their mainstays on defense and with their 1A goaltender between the pipes.

Seguin/By S. Bradley
In grasping for a reason to hype the Bruins’ visit to Edmonton tonight for the fifth game of their vital six-game stretch of road games, some are going to try to sell you on this contest as some sort of referendum on the debate between Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin.
Congratulations to Nick Stangas of Amherst, Mass., who won the “Darth Quaider” t-shirt from Sully’s Brand.
Nick guessed the Bruins would have 22 hits against Vancouver last night. Five other entrants also guessed 22 and Nick won the random drawing.
Thanks to all who entered. Look for another Bruins product giveaway next weekend.

Kobasew
Winger Chuck Kobasew has always been a quiet, hard-working player who never ruffles feathers within his own locker room.
And with 44 goals in parts of three seasons with the Bruins, he has shown some decent scoring hands as well.
