BOSTON — An elephant never forgets and obviously neither does Gregory Campbell.

The Bruins center lined up at right wing for tonight’s opening faceoff and then one second into the game dropped the gloves with Dallas agitator Steve Ott, who bloodied Campbell’s nose in a lengthy bout.

Obviously, Campbell asked head coach Claude Julien to allow him some revenge for what Ott did to the then-Florida center March 28, 2009. Here’s a look:

Campbell did not miss a game after the hit, but obviously it still left an impression on the veteran. Last season, Ott did not play in the only Stars-Panthers game of the season.

Campbell’s fight tonight was the first of three the Bruins and Stars staged in the first four seconds of the game and the first of four in the opening period.
