Sharks show the Bruins how stretch run has to be done
When the playoffs start, the points earned in the regular season get dialed back to zero. The teams that earned their seeding by playing with a playoff style and level of intensity will be the ones that march on, and the Bruins have to find a way to string those types of performances together more often.

Take away the wall. (Old New Jersey Breakout) Get on our D.Make them make a skilled play. That’s how you beat Boston.
I thought the Sharks played a perfect road game. They forechecked well, put pressure on the D, they took away the neutral zone making it hard to make an outlet pass, and when in their own zone they blocked shots, cleared the front of the net/rebounds , and gave the B’s little room to work with. They played a simple grinding style that capitalized on the B’s mistakes. That’s pretty much a text book road game.
rex should have finished on that shortie.
Marchand was one of the better players out there from where I was sitting. Hamill looked terrible. Chara was AWFUL. Boychuk had a terrible game and Kampfer (the team’s best defensiveman) had an uncharacteristically bad game.
And to say the Sharks played well is a vast overstatement. 18 shots? They only won by sucking less than the Bruins this afternoon. They play any more games like that they’ll find themselves on the outside looking in over in the West.
While it is easy to criticize the Bruins when they lose the Sharks did a really good job forechecking. As soon as the Bruins touched the puck along the boards the Sharks were in their face making it difficult to make the good outlet pass. Other teams have been a step slower allowing the Bruins room to make plays. Sometimes you need to give the opposition credit.
First time in a long time Marchand looked lost out there.
Wheeler should be back at center. Send back Hamill, bring up Caron, let him run third-line duties on the wing.
Hamill didn’t look awful, but he’s not the sparkplug the B’s need. It’s clear that the B’s want Caron to get seasoning playing in “all sorts of situations” in PVD, but for the next three games that Paille will miss (MTL and two vs. the Wings), the B’s can’t afford to have a weak link.
