WILMINGTON, Mass. — Not that you necessarily need a players’ approval to make a nickname official, but today Adam McQuaid gave the thumbs up to a moniker he has had off and on since his days in junior hockey.
The former Sudbury Wolves defenseman had never heard of the Chuck Norris flick “Lone Wolf McQuade” until today. In all honesty, I had never heard of it before yesterday.
But who wouldn’t want to be nicknamed after a Norris flick, especially one that also stars David Carradine?
McQuaid said he heard some people call him that in Sudbury but had no idea why. Now he not only knows about it, he plans to check out the movie when he gets a chance.
