Bertuzzi
Right about now Todd Bertuzzi has to be petitioning the NHL to put the Bruins on Detroit’s schedule at least a couple more times this season.
The veteran Detroit power forward followed up his two-goal performance in Friday night’s 6-1 win at Boston with two more scores today at home in the Red Wings’ 4-2 victory over the Bruins.
As inter-conference foes, the Bruins and Wings won’t meet again until the Stanley Cup final or next season.
Bertuzzi now has 12 goals on the year. So like a Western Conference-based Drew Stafford (the Buffalo forward has scored seven of his 20 goals vs. Boston), Bertuzzi now has one third of his offensive output at the Bruins’ expense.
Here’s a glance at the rest of the box score:
•Kris Draper scored what proved to be the game-winner with 7:16 remaining in the second period.
•Tyler Seguin was back in the lineup after two healthy scratches, and he scored Boston’s first goal of the night. Defenseman Mark Stuart returned to the lineup as well, and was plus-1 in 13:34 of ice time.
•Tim Thomas stopped just 32 of 36 shots faces in his return to the Detroit area.
•Six Bruins players posted a minus-2 rating.

Well I think what we learned from this weekend is that Detroit is a good, really f’n good, team. B’s caught them at a bad point where they were out to prove something and boy did they. When they are clicking there isn’t a better team in the league. The skill and chemistry on that team are embarassingly great.
B’s have some work to do.
10-3 detroit. ouch. good thing b’s have ways to go before playing a meaningful game against a western foe. amber alert for the khl line.
What we saw this weekend was the difference between a playoff team and a Stanley Cup team. Its as simple as that.
I’m 2 hours from the Joe’s front door and always have been. Haven’t bothered to get a passport and go to a game in some time.
i did too when i was growing up in detroit but enough is enough!
The wings are an awful matchup for most teams. The size and skill. The way they support the puck in order to keep it. I got to admit I enjoy watching them.
Memo to Chirelli: If these two games don’t show you that this team is no different than the one who lost vs Philly last spring I don’t know what will! Time to make wholesale changes or we stand no chance of beating teams like philly and detroit in the playoffs who are in a whole other class. You don’t beat teams up in the playoffs!
and i like thornton but no need for him today. if anyone is a healthy scratch today it should be him. the wings are an awful matchup for the bruins.

no i’m not criticizing you but olczyk. chara is the most over rated player in hockey. good one on one but otherwise lacking. the recchi on the point on the pp experiment should end.
I was defending Seguin. Chara plays a crucial 2 on 1 like a bag of toys and nothing said.
it couldn’t be the fact that seidenberg and ference were holding hands on the draper goal? or marchand’s awful giveaway on bertuzzi’s first goald. or another lackluster performance from krejci? we can’t criticize him though.
So what if Seguin made a mistake. He’s allowed to when he scores and the rest of the team (first line and most of the second) does nothing all game! He’ll learn from this.
A pylon watches the puch carrier. An opposing forward skates by said pylon. It’s Seguins fault according to Olcyzk.
Couln’t have sat Kampfer friday and let the kid play at home. Just like sitting Seguin in Buffalo.(close to home). Might as well be mean too. Nice measuring stick Detroit home and home. Should I say home and done.
