Ryder/By S. Bradley

They don’t come much streakier than Bruins winger Michael Ryder.

Prior to scoring twice in last week’s win over Montreal, head hadn’t scored in eight games. But the veteran winger has had more hot streaks than cold ones this season and is now within two goals of his total from all of last season.

With two goals and two assists in three games last week, Ryder impressed the readers of TheBruinsBlog.net enough for them to vote him the Bruin of the Week.

Ryder now has 16 goals, which tie him for second on the club, and 33 points in 56 games. Last season, he scored just 18 times in 82 games, which included two goals in the regular-season finale in Washington (which was basically a glorified exhibition game with both teams locked into their playoff spots).

His streakiness and his $4 million price tag make Ryder a player most people would like to see traded. He still could be moved between now and the Feb. 28 trade deadline. However, Ryder has proven more reliable in the goal-scoring department this season than some of Boston’s more-popular players.
