Kessel/By S. Bradley
BOSTON — It took long enough for Phil Kessel to figure out the Bruins’ defense.
And when he did tonight, he did it in dramatic fashion, as he scored twice in Toronto’s 4-3 win over the Bruins at TD Garden.
Kessel’s teammate Mikhail Grabovski was an even bigger hero, with two goals of his own including the game-winner with just 1:01 left on the clock.
Here’s a look at the rest of the box score:
•Daniel Paille scored in his return from a four-game suspension. Gregory Campbell and Patrice Bergeron scored Boston’s other goals.
•In net, James Reimer made 32 saves on 35 shots to earn the win for the Maple Leafs.
•Defenseman Tomas Kaberle, rumored over the course of the day to being close to traded to Boston, logged 19:54 of ice time and was a plus-1 with an assist.

like i said before coaching change is needed it just seems the players on this team are not fitting into the roles coaching has them try to play they look lost out there.their breakout is awefull thats why Detroit was able to beat them so easily
Pretty bad all around. Physical effort wasn’t there, and something just seemed off all night. I think Timmy needs a rest too. The Lobotomie’s 2nd and Grabo’s game winner were both shots that he normally has, even if the game winner was put in a perfect spot, he ususally doesn’t give up short side too much.
I agree with James’ comment in the previous post. The team knows that someone’s if not multiple players could move and they’re playing like it.
this is what i dont get .. your best shooter is horton although snake bitten and needing a little more time to get off shots.. where could he get more time to take that shot? the power play .. sure passes around the peremiter looked good .. but then what , nothing. i thought ryder and seguin looked great tonight. i thought bergy looked good, but he always does. krejci looked awful , lucic cannot pass or hold onto the puck and i thought horton was doing a good job going after the puck and getting it tothe other two guys but they would jsut lose the puck and then it looked like horton didnt do anything else.. this whole system needs to be shaken up , claudes stupid flat footed dump and bend dont break styles are no longer successful in this nhl three years with the same system even the bad teams (ahem.. toronto) can beat you at it now. last night was simply disgusting. i say trade recchi to a real competitor , ference and stuart and bring in some younger guys.. and most off all a new coach . then let them ride out the playoffs this year hopefully build some momentum and if not come back next year with a completely new approach to todays nhl. matt, dont you think you wrote a rant about claude. maybe im wrong , i love hockey but have never called myself a hockey sauvant (sp?) but this is simply my opinion, this team is way too predictable and becoming hard to watch when teams like toronto make them pass the puck ten times between each defender just so they can make a bad pass in the neutral zone and the other team get a great offensive rush going.. ok im stopping now as i fear im rambling but man was that frustrating last night!
It seems like all the commenters on this blog are constantly ragging on Wheeler, and I just have not thought he has been that bad this season.
Except tonight. He was absolutely dreadful from beginning to end. Considering how hard Seguin and Ryder played on that line, it was especially noticeable.
Not that the rest of the team was much better…

Embarrassing… our “top two” defenders getting split by a guy who’s 5-10 and 180lbs, because they refuse to play the body. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Leafs fans are probably going off right now on their fan sites… I know there’s one guy on nesn.com who is a Leafs fan and always stirs the pot. This is frustrating. Call me when Chia pet does something about this mess.
i didn’t think the b’s could top their regulation choke job / shoot out loss to the buds earlier this year, but i was mistaken.
