You vote: Who sits so Kelly can make his Bruins’ debut?
Bruins head coach Claude Julien has had to make a lot of difficult decisions in terms of his lineup all season long.
Friday night in Ottawa, he’ll have another one with Chris Kelly joining the club as the 13th forward.
There are a handful of candidates to be the healthy scratch in Ottawa. So I ask you the readers of TheBruinsBlog.net:
Who should the Bruins scratch to make room for Chris Kelly?
- Daniel Paille (56%, 177 Votes)
- Blake Wheeler (19%, 62 Votes)
- Nathan Horton (15%, 47 Votes)
- Shawn Thornton (7%, 23 Votes)
- Tyler Seguin (3%, 9 Votes)
Total Voters: 318
they could have two “checking” lines:
MAR/BER/REC
LUC/KEL/THOR
SEG(PAI)/KRE/RYD
WHE/CAM/HOR
or, more likely, keep the grit spread around and flip Ryder and Horton:
MAR/BER/REC
LUC/KRE/RYD
PAI(SEG)/KEL/HOR
WHE/CAM/THOR
but I have to imagine tonight will be:
MAR/BER/REC
LUC/KRE/HOR
SEG/KEL/RYD
WHE/CAM/THOR
I’m holding out slim chance hope for:
CHA/KAB
FER/MCQ
STU/BOY
THOM(RAS)
or more likely:
CHA/KAB
SEI/KAM
FER/MCQ
THOM(RAS)
and expecting tonight to be:
CHA/KAM
SEI/FER
BOY/MCQ
RAS(THOM)
Sit Paille. He may be “hot” but he’s not the one creating plays, it’s about the positioning at practice. Let’s give some love to the kid for once, because since his two healthy scratches, Seguin has been making plays and getting dirty, let’s finally put him on a line with some scorers/playmakers, and move the underachieving krejci to 3rd line for a reality check with the guys he played well with in past seasons.
Marchand, Bergeron, Recchi
Lucic, Seguin, Horton
Wheeler, Krejci, Ryder
Campbell, Kelly, Thornton

Paille sits for now….
Lucic-Krejci-Ryder
Marchand-Bergeron-Recchi
Seguin-Kelly-Horton
Wheeler-Campbell-Thornton
Wheeler eventually shipped, then Paille/Caron step in on the 4th line. Surprisingly, I don’t think the Bs need to sit Thornton if they make a playoff run this year. He’s still making good plays, including a couple nice set-ups last night and great energy all around.
Give Thorton a night off. Not because he’s ineffective, but so he doesn’t have to give someone a shiner. Or you could give recchi a night to keep him fresh too.
Horton needs to take a seat. If it wasn’t for his NTC I would think he’d be on his way out the door. Well, maybe not since Chia gave up the 1st round pick for him. He has been just as advertised…B.U.S.T. Man , did I drink the kool-aid when they got him. Oh Cam well set him straight, he’s never played in a real Hockey town, a change of scene and he’ll be a 40 goal guy. I laugh at my own stupidity.
I think it should be Ryder, simply because Seguin Wheeler and Paille all have found some rhythm in their games finally. And well, Ryder is fairly useless when he isn’t scoring because he can’t forecheck, can’t backcheck and he thinks he can dangle through the whole team but fails every time. Give Kelly a shot on a line with Wheeler and Seguin and see what happens
I’ve given my thoughts on this in the previous post, so I’m sorry for switch it up here, but it’s nice to see Edmonton come through last night against the Habs and to see the Wings do pretty much the same thing to the Bolts last night as they did to the B’s on Friday.
At least Paille is scoring. What does Wheeler do? It will be the coup of the century to trade him to Toronto.
To bad if it is Paille hes been hot as of recent and bring so much energy to the game.
I agree with Pat but at the same time a team like Ott may give Horton the chance to pot a few. It’s probably going to be Paille though.

Horton needs a scratch, he isn’t producing and maybe a night off will show him that he needs to. The Senators are the second worst team in the NHL so they can do without his *skill* especially when he is missing the net.
Enjoy the night off Paille. We’ll see you when Wheeler is gone.
