Final score: Bruins 4, Ottawa 2

Rask/By S. Bradley
For just the second time this season, Tuukka Rask started in net for the Bruins on consecutive nights.
Luckily for Boston, he showed no sign of wear and tear tonight in Ottawa.
The Bruins’ sophomore puck-stopper had to be on top of his game while his teammates sleepwalked through the first period and a half and he finished the night with 32 saves on 34 shots to earn a 4-2 win over the Senators for his second victory in as many nights.
Rask’s last back-to-back starts was Nov 5-6, when he lost both games (one in a shootout). This time around he followed up his win over the New York Islanders with a stellar performance that kept the Sens within just one goal until Boston got its offense going.
Here’s a glance at the box score:
•Brad Marchand ran his season’s goal total to 18 with two scores. Nathan Horton and Dennis Seidenberg also scored.
•Two newcomers contributed well once the Bruins got in sync, as Chris Kelly logged 15:09 of ice time and Tomas Kaberle skated for 19:34 and was a minus-1. Kaberle was instrumental in helping the Bruins score a power-play goal late in the game even though he didn’t earn a point.
•Andrew Ference (two assists) enjoyed his first multi-point night of the year, while David Krejci added two assists.
nifty, chris: kelly played wing but took all the faceoffs, and he was 4/5 on them. an important area where the bruins have been lacking, particularly on the 3rd line.
First 2 periods were painful to watch. No effort what so ever. 3rd was much more interesting and we got to see a taste of whats to come in Kaberle. Kelly didn’t really impress me all that much but I really didn’t have high expectations from him anyways.
End result was 2 points and you can never complain about that.
I thought Kelly would play center. Wrong. I thought Timmy should not sit two in a row. Wrong. I still like Kelly at center because of his skating and attention to defense. I also thought I should only admit when I’m wrong and not when I’m wright. No one likes a smug A-hole.
His lateral movement. His flat accurate passes. If you notice he hardly looks at the puck on his stick. Yeah he doesn’t put guys through the boards but either does Lidstrom. I’m not comparing but the guy makes the game look easy like Nick does. I think he’ll help Krecji too. Having a fellow country man that you know and don’t want to let down.
Kaberle played a great game, only a matter of time before he gets the pp clicking.Marchand stood out tonight as well.Only bad thing i saw was ryder and horton. They floated through the whole game,i’m not sure if they don’t care or there just lazy.Anyway can’t wait to see peverly’s debut and a good day for chia.I like the moves and this years team should be better composed than last.

tuukka’s best game of the year. reminded me of what he did last year – give up the first goal and then shut them down.
