Meet Rich Peverley

Peverley
The Bruins have made the Atlanta two-for-two trade official with a press release. Mark Stuart and Blake Wheeler go to the Thrashers for Rick Peverley and Boris Valabik.
Most of my readers know all about Tomas Kaberle, who’s reportedly on his way from Toronto. But you might not be as familiar with Rick Peverley, the center coming to Boston from Atlanta.
So here’s a thumbnail look at him:
Size: 6-0, 185 pounds
Shoots: Right
Age: 28
Signed: Through 2012 at $1.325 cap hit (according to CapGeek.com)
Scouting report: The McKeen’s Hockey Pool Yearbook says of Peverley “speedy, skilled playmaker with a nose for the net. … boasts excellent lateral agility and good economies in his skating mechanics. … possesses sudden-strike capabilities, highlighted by a wrist shot of surprising velocity. … not overly big, physical, nor tough defensively, yet does get back and fill lanes and has a good stick.”
Kaberle,Kelly and Peverly all can skate. Good job increasing team mobility.Drop the puck. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.
he’s cute too! blake was staying onsides this year, but couldn’t finish. i swear he was leading the team in breakaways.
This guy is verrrrrrrry solid. He’s going to make that third line even more dangerous. I’m excited.
Peverly >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wheeler
I knew I remembered a fight with Valabik and some bruin over the last two or three years…and here it is… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57m0aeRfIUo
I also seem to remember him really getting under Chara’s skin last year in a game. So not a bad throw in guy for that trade.

So Matt: What’s the verdict. Grandslam, ground-rule double.. pinch-hit single or an inning ending double-play. Sure – we need to see it on the ice – and we’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.. but we want an Opinion.
Good, old-fashion hockey trade.
Love it!
Sounds like the second trade did its job, but not with the second d-man Matt was talking about.
You think there is more to come, or do you think we’re done till after the deadline in Boston?
INCREDIBLE upgrades…D pairings look great, and we kept our depth at center
I really like Rich Peverley, and he’s got a great contract, to boot. We are absolutely jacked up the middle, for now and the future!
I like Perverly alot. I think this trade was highway robbery
Sounds a lot like wheeler, minus 15 lbs and 4in, but with more offensive upside.
Sounds like a good trade and certainly an upgrade over Wheeler
