Rask/By S. Bradley

Readers of TheBruinsBlog.net have seen the evidence and returned a verdict: Tuukka Rask should start tonight in net for the Bruins at Ottawa.

Mostly citing Rask’s need to find a groove and Tim Thomas’ recent signs of weariness, readers voted overwhelmingly for Rask to play against the Senators, who he has not faced yet this season.

Rask, who made 34 saves in beating the New York Islanders last night, has now won two of his last three starts. He has not started consecutive games since he got three straight starts Jan. 1-6. He was pulled Jan. 1 after one period in Buffalo, but came back to play strong in a win over Toronto and a loss to Minnesota.

In Rask’s only previous career appearance against Ottawa, he allowed four goals and didn’t factor in the decision.

Thomas is 18-8-2 all-time with a 1.94 goals-against average and .937 save percentage against the Sens. He has a .978 save percentage in games vs. Ottawa in 2010-11.

Head coach Claude Julien could keep us waiting for his decision on a starter until warm-ups before the 7:30 start, so stay tuned to find out who will get the nod.
