WILMINGTON, Mass. — The Bruins practiced one last time in the Bay State before departing for Calgary this morning at Ristuccia Arena.
The Flames team the Bruins will face Tuesday night in the first game of their four-game road trip will be playing its first contest after freezing their rears off in a 4-0 Heritage Classic win over Montreal outdoors at McMahon Stadium Sunday night.
There could be some post-Heritage Classic hangover, but head coach Claude Julien — who has coached in a Heritage Classic and a Winter Classic — doesn’t expect the playoff-contending Flames to be focused on anything other than the game at hand.
“You never know. It depends on the individual, it depends on the situation,” said Julien. “I think right now, they’re in the playoff hunt and I don’t think they can afford to have any letdowns. So standing on this side of the fence, I would say they’re ready to go.”
Today was the first practice with newcomers Chris Kelly and Rich Peverley that the Bruins skated in lines. Here’s how those groups look:
Lucic-Krejci-Horton
Marchand-Bergeron-Recchi
Ryder-Kelly-Peverley
Paille-Campbell-Seguin/Thornton
Thornton would play left wing if Seguin is in on the fourth line. All six defensemen (minus Tomas Kaberle, who will meet the team in Calgary) and the two goaltenders skated as well.

Johnson is an Av now. There was a pretty crazy trade a few days ago…
Avs got: Erik Johnson, Jay McClement, Blues’ first rounder
Blues got: Chris Stewart, Kevin Shattenkirk, Avs’ second rounder
matt, i was just wondering if you have heard any rumblings about if the bruins were involved in eric johnson and what they would have had to give up?
